Fun-with-Phonics is an English literacy program for children ages 4-8. We offer a fun, interactive, small classroom experience where children learn to read and write using the Jolly Phonics Program. Phonics is a method of teaching children to read and pronounce words by learning the sounds of letters, letter groups, and syllables. (learn more about phonics)
To read and write in any language is paramount to a child’s intellectual abilities. We believe that reading and writing English is essential in today’s increasingly fast-paced, global society. The English language remains the most commonly used language in business and general communication in the world. Fun-with-Phonics will empower your child by introducing him/her to this essential language.
Our winter 2018 program is divided in 2 levels.
- LEVEL 1: For children who have little or no experience reading in English. We will introduce the 42 letter sounds using songs, actions, and stories as part of the Jolly Phonics Program. Children will engage in fun activities promoting awareness of English sounds. They will learn to identify sounds in words and blend sounds together to read.
- LEVEL 1: For children who have limited experience in the English language. Using Jolly Phonics, we will introduce alternative spellings, challenging words, and basic English sentence structure. Through individual and group activities, children will be encouraged to express their own creative abilities in writing.
Our program promotes a meaningful and impactful learning experience for your child, in a fun and engaging environment.
